Exploring The New Mazda CX-60 Diesel

06 June 2023

The original Mazda CX-60 has proved a popular SUV thanks to its excellent reliability, efficiency, and sleek design. Now Mazda is stepping things up with their latest model: the all-new Mazda CX-60 Diesel. With its bold stylings and responsive driving dynamics, this is a car for progressive drivers who expect quality and advanced tech on the road. Our experts from Magna Mazda Poole and Mazda Christchurch have been taking a look at the latest range of impressive features.

All-New Diesel Engine

Mazda has a record of approaching modern driving in their own unique style. This time round is certainly no different. Under the bonnet of the 2023 Mazda CX-60 Diesel is a 3.3-litre turbodiesel engine. Bigger than its predecessors, the new CX-60 Diesel’s engine produces an impressive 200bhp and 550Nm of torque.

This power doesn’t come at the cost of comfort, either. With the eight-speed automatic gearbox making the most of the engine’s capabilities, you’ll find yourself cruising smoothly whether on the motorway or in the city.

Nor are you losing out on fuel efficiency. The engine in the Mazda CX-60 Diesel is capable of up to 56.5mpg, while the CO2 emissions are rated at 138g/km.

5 Modes Of Driving

Another exciting feature of the 2023 Mazda CX-60 is Mi-DRIVE. This tech gives drivers the ability to switch between five driving modes: normal, sport, off-road, towing, and EV. With the flick of a switch, the CX-60 Diesel will adjust to your present driving conditions, ensuring you’re always getting optimum performance.

While the normal setting will be fine for everyday use, the sport mode will enhance the Mazda CX-60’s responsiveness when the accelerator is pressed down. The off-road setting meanwhile will optimise controls for different conditions from gravel through to snow.

Interior Stylings

Mazda has also given the interior of the CX-60 Diesel a significant refresh. While the cabin is spacious, with plenty of room for both passengers and cargo, there’s now some new tech to play with.

The driver identification system uses facial recognition technology to identify who is sitting in the driver’s seat. It can then switch the driving position, audio, and climate control settings to that driver’s preferences.

There’s also a new 12.3-inch colour centre display that’s been perfectly positioned to angle toward the driver’s line of sight. If you choose the Homura or Takumi models, the 2023 Mazda CX-60 also comes with a 12-speaker Bose surround-sound system.
