An Overview Of The Mazda CX-60’s Technology Package
As the first Plug-in Hybrid available from Mazda’s stylish range of SUVs, it’s unsurprising that the new Mazda CX-60 PHEV also comes with some notable tech. Our experts have been taking a look at what’s waiting in the driving seat.
Mazda Driver Identification System
One of the most exciting features to come out of the Mazda CX-60 is the Driver Identification system. Similar to modern smartphones, this technology uses facial recognition to identify the driver. The car can then adjust driving position, audio and climate control settings to your preference – all without you needing to do a thing.
As well as the new Mazda CX-60 being able to store over 250 driver preferences, it can also recommend a seating position if you’re a new user, too.
Powerful Sound System
Fitted as standard on the Homura and Takumi models is a new, 12-speaker Bose surround-sound system. This impressive kit features Bose Centrepoint signal processing and Audiopilot 2 noise compensation technology, meaning the Mazda CX-60 sounds every bit as good as it looks.
Sleek Centre Display
As well as featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the infotainment system on the new Mazda CX-60 boasts a striking 12.3-inch colour centre display. This has been expertly engineered to be positioned neatly in the driver’s line of sight.
360º View Monitor
If you select the ‘Convenience Pack’, your Mazda CX-60 PHEV comes fitted with four external cameras to provide a full, 360º view of your surroundings. This is a real game-changer when it comes to manoeuvring at low speeds such as when parking or fitting through tight gaps.
Mi-DRIVE
The Mazda CX-60 comes with the ability to switch between five driving modes: normal, sport, off-road, towing and EV. No matter your surroundings, you’ll be able to achieve the optimum performance from your car.
Kinematic Posture Control
Known as KPC for short, this vehicle stabilisation technology applies a very small amount of brake force to the inner wheel while cornering. This pulls the body down and improves cornering performance.
8-Speed Automatic Transmission
With a wide, 8-speed gear range, the Mazda CX-60’s Plug-in Hybrid engine delivers an optimal balance of driving and environmental performance.
Further Features
As well as those already mentioned, the new Mazda CX-60 comes with a number of further features to enhance your driving experience. These include:
- heated front seats
- cruise control
- dual-zone climate control
- head-up display
- keyless entry
- parking sensors
