The UK government has recently stated that it will share the remaining scrappage scheme budget based on retail sales towards the end of 2009. Mazda has welcomed this news and consequently is urging customers to “buy now” and take advantage of the scheme quickly to avoid disappointment.
“It is good news for Mazda as we achieved the biggest retail share in our history last year.” Says Mazda UK Managing Director. "However, it is important that any customer considering purchasing a Mazda through the scrappage scheme takes advantage sooner rather than later.”

In total all Mazda dealers are able to call off all model lines for early delivery to enable customers to take full advantage of the Mazda scrappage scheme. In 2009 we saw 75% of the scrappage scheme go towards the Mazda 2 but in addition we have also seen a large proportion go towards the Mazda 3 and Mazda 6. We have even had sportscars such as the Mazda MX-5 and Mazda RX-8 increase in sales due to the scrappage scheme.

Mazda UK has fully embraced the scheme and as such is currently still actively promoting it as the government supplements £1000 and additional payments of between £1000 on Mazda 2 £5000 on Mazda RX-8, means owners changing their old model for a new Mazda get even more value for money.

Mazda is currently offering £2,000 on Mazda2, £3,000 on Mazda3, Mazda MX-5 and Mazda6, £4,000 on Mazda5 and Mazda CX-7 and £6,000 on Mazda RX-8 for any qualifying car traded-in under the scrappage scheme.

Scrappage supplements may differ between Mazda dealers however so make sure you contact your nearest dealer to find out what levels of scrappage allowance they are offering on select Mazda models.
